Designs by Jenn

A good friend of mine has recently launched her own business, making photo cards and other cute crafty things. She has an awesome knack for making birthday invites, Christmas cards, birth announcements, or cards for any other special occasion. Her website offers premade designs that you may choose your own photo and message OR Jenn will tirelessly work with you to create your own perfect custom design cards!

Not only are Jenn's designs delightful, but she has begun all this work in hopes of adding a new member to her family through adoption. We all know that adoption is a long, hard and costly process, so please visit Jenn. Look around, buy something, make a donation, or at least say hello.

A little message from Jenn:
"I have been "dabbling" in things like these photo cards and such for a couple years now....ever since I started being a stay home mom. Recently, growing our family by adoption has been weighing heavily on my mind and heart. With God's guidance, we have decided to adopt from Africa. We are just in the very most beginning stages of our journey. A journey which we know will be long, full of joy, full of heartache, and full of trying to raise the funds. I started this website in hopes of helping to have money to add to our adoption fund."

Merry Christmas

Just in case ya'll didn't have enough to think about right now, we're coming up on 45 days and counting! :) I've already been looking at Black Friday (which happens to be my birthday this year!) ads and planning out how to finish the last of my shopping.

MySpace-Countdowns

I'm putting this at the bottom of the blog in case anyone needs a quick reference.

I Didn't Learn

This morning I needed to refer back to life lesson #9843; NEVER turn your back on a toddler.

Well, I broke this rule and Parker decided to turn our big jug of milk into his favorite drink, "pink milk". The little monster was able to get the milk out of the fridge, get it up on the counter, and add his strawberry syrup. Thankfully I had caught him before he'd started to pour himself a cup. Pink milk is hard to get out of carpet - we've learned that the hard way too.

Yoplait Giveaway

I'm excited to announce And Baby Made Three's 1st GIVEAWAY!!

BlogSpark and Yoplait have given me the opportunity to give away not one, but TWO free samples of Yoplait Kids Yogurt and a Yoplait prize pack!

A little message from Yoplait:
Are you searching for a snack for the kids that tastes good and is good for them? Yoplait Kids yogurt is the perfect solution with 25% less sugar than the leading kids´ yogurt. With its thick and creamy texture that will hug your little one´s spoon, you won´t have to worry about a sticky mess to clean up afterwards. It also contains no artificial sweeteners or flavors, so you can feel good about serving it to your kids.

In addition, Yoplait Kids is a good source of vitamin D and, according to two new studies that provide the first national assessment of the crucial nutrient in young Americans, millions of U.S. children have disturbingly low vitamin D levels, possibly increasing their risk for a variety of health concerns, including bone problems. About 7.6 million children, adolescents, and young adults have vitamin D levels so low they could be considered deficient. It can be challenging for growing kids to get enough vitamin D because this nutrient is only found naturally in very few foods; however Yoplait Kids makes it a little easier to incorporate a delicious source of vitamin D and calcium in your child´s diet.

Disclaimer: coupon included in prize pack is not vaild in Idaho, Louisiana, Nevada, New Jersey, North Dakota and Tennessee.

How to enter:

1. Tell me how you make snack time fun for your kids OR one of your most fun memories you´ve had with your kids.

2. Become a follower of ABMT or tell me that you already are.

3. Post about this giveaway on your blog (if you have one).

You may leave a separate comment for each entry, so you possibly have a chance to enter 3 times!

The giveaway will end on Friday, October 30th. I will announce the two winners on Halloween!

Useful Thursday

Flat Cola

Don't pour flat cola down the sink, instead pour it into your toilet bowl and leave for an hour before flushing. It'll get rid of any limescale deposits and stains.

Wine Glasses

Use wine glasses as candle holders. To cast romantic shadows at the dinner table, place a votive candle in a thick-walled glass, anchored in a bed of sand or small pebbles (it makes wax cleanup a snap).

Coat Rack

Display photos and art on a coat rack over the mantel or in a hallway. Use ribbons or strings of different lengths to hang the arrangement from the pegs for an easy and creative change of scenery.

Paper Towel Tubes

Wrap your lights around a paper towel tube to store them for next year. They won't tangle up as easily!

GSM

We took a little trip to the Great Smoky Mountains this past weekend. Seems like we stayed busy the whole time, but we had lots of fun. The last thing we did before we came home was a ZIPLINE! We rode 6 lines which makes the tour the longest in the country. We bought disposable cameras for that adventure so I dont have any pictures from that yet. Needless to say, the girls were less afraid that the guys.

While we there there we went to Cherokee, NC and Harrah's Casino.

We had plenty of good food and drinks.

We played mini golf and rode go carts.

We drove into the mountains where we got married :)

And no trip would be complete without seeing a black bear!

I WANT TO WIN

My beautiful friend Misty has an awesome blog, Queen of My House, and she's hosting her first GIVEAWAY!

If you follow her, you are eligible to win a 16 x 20 poster print of a picture of your choice. Hurry, because its only open until Sunday the 26th!

If I win, I'd chose this picture from our wedding. (I know I just posted this picture on our anniversary on down the page, but the rules are you have to post the picture you want.) As I've been decorating our new house, I noticed that the largest picture I have from that day is an 8 x 10. So I'd love to have a bigger one to put up. (Plus, look how skinny we both were!haha)

So go NOW, and follow Misty. She plans on doing more giveaways, so if you don't win this one, you might get another.

Useful Thursday

Use old calendar pages as gift wrap.

Plastic drinking straws will core your strawberries. Remove the leaves, and then push the straw from the top of the berry through to the bottom.

Use bright mismatches dishtowels as place mats.

A toothbrush can get rid of stray corn silk on ears of corn

Use cookie cutters to help decorate cakes. Lay cookie cutters on top of cake and sprinkle the decorative topping of choice within the cookie cutter, like a stencil.

3 on the 3rd

Today marks the 3 year anniversary that I became Mrs. WJC. My other half and I have been through alot together in our short time...(I could even reach so far as to say we've been to Hell and back) I'm talking life changing stuff, ya'll: births, deaths, near deaths, 100 mile moves, new jobs, terrible twos, shew!

But through it all, there is no one I'd rather watch Cops with.

There is no one else I'd rather grocery shop with.

There is no one else I'd rather cook bacon for.

There is no one else I'd rather be a parent with.

There is no one else I'd rather be a wife to.

Useful Thursday

Lemonade Kool-Aid
Want to clean lime deposits and iron stains inside the dishwasher? Pour a packet of lemonade Kool-Aid (the only flavor that works) into the detergent cup and run the dishwasher while empty. The citric acid in the mix wipes out stains, so you don't have to.

Old Socks
Use old, worn or mismatched socks for easy dusting. Just slip your hand in and slide it around for dust free tables, counters and more.
